Just a good pick for a city trip in Horsted Keynes with great value for money. The Sunday lunch was excellent, with varied menu options and friendly service. Be mindful that breakfast starts late, so plan accordingly.

The entrance hallway could use a serious once-over. cleaning materials were lying around and it felt a bit neglected. My room had some issues too. the bathroom light was flickering, and the mattress was rather saggy. while the food was a highlight, several maintenance details were missed that could improve the experience.

Delicious meals in a charming setting
I really enjoyed my stay, especially the meals, which were perfectly prepared and diverse. I sat outside on a beautiful day with a lovely view of the cricket green. The inviting menu made it hard to choose, but my grilled chicken salad was fantastic. One area for improvement would be the availability of menus or clearer service at the bar during peak times.

I had breakfast each morning made to order by the chef, which was nice. The location was perfect for visiting local gardens nearby. I enjoyed my stay with a kettle for coffee in the room. I experienced one moment that stood out, when entering the bar, a local greeted me warmly, but the barmaid was unhelpful and grumpy, prompting us to leave for another pub.

The double room offered a lovely view overlooking the cricket green, and the presence of a coffee machine added a nice touch. Though the full English breakfast was excellent, with well-cooked bacon, my dining experience was marred by a lack of attentiveness from the bar staff, which made ordering food a challenge. the hallway's cleanliness could use some improvement, and the service felt inconsistent, prompting me to seek dining elsewhere at times.

The location was ideal for visiting local attractions, with beautiful gardens nearby. The double room was comfortable and well-appointed, featuring a lovely view of the cricket pitch. Unfortunately, the service was inconsistent. the barmaid's lack of attentiveness overshadowed our experience and left us feeling unwelcome. Although the surroundings were pleasant, the overall atmosphere was affected by this service issue, prompting us to explore other dining options nearby.
